Jamie,working alone, during this pandemic continued to complete the job. He is THE MAN. He brought my mahogany bedroom back to its original "look" only better because he used a finish that provides extra protection from the sun. I have a Hans Wagner vintage dining room chair from the 50s that shattered at the joint in several directions. I didn't even know if it would be salvageable and was certainly happy to except any kind of repair that would make it usable. They did such an amazing job that when I pick the chair up we couldn't remember which joint had been broken! In addition they took the extra time to square up the legs and do a few little improvements. I recommend them 100%.Verified I found a very cool mirror at the Alameda flea market, but it was in need of refinishing. The surface had several chips and cracks, and the overall finish looked faded and dull. My friend had just finished a project through GRIT and recommended I contact Jamie. From the minute we met, it was clear he was determined to get the exact results I wanted (which involved trial and error with several different kinds of paint). Once we found the one I liked, he did a phenomenal job of repairing surface imperfections, spraying the frame multiple times, and adding a custom layer of patina. The end result far exceeded my expectations, and every day I walk by the finished product, I can't help but smile. Upon contacting GRIT, they quickly assessed the damage and provided me with an estimate. They recommended me great and professional movers to get my furniture to and from their shop, and offered a Saturday drop off at their shop. I greatly appreciated this flexibility since I work in the South Bay Monday through Friday. After asking clarifying questions, Jameson jumped in and got to work on my dresser. While communicating with him throughout the process, I got the sense that he takes great pride in his work and craftsmanship - something I hope for when trusting someone with my furniture. My dresser in particular raised technical challenges, but Jameson informed me of his approach and managed to work through them. Jamie did not disappoint - his wood finishing wizardry brought life back into my dresser and I cannot even tell a huge gash existed on the dresser top!
